Beschrijving
Striking round coffee table designed by Oddmund Vad and produced by Vad Trevarefabrikk, Norway, dating from the 1970s.
The table features a richly decorated copper tabletop with an elaborate Neo-Egyptian inspired design, depicting stylized figures, chariots and ornamental geometric patterns arranged in concentric circles. The detailed surface gives the table a strong graphic and almost sculptural character.
The copper top is surrounded by a warm teak frame, supported by an elegant sculptural teak base. The curved intersecting legs create an open, architectural construction that contrasts beautifully with the highly decorative tabletop.
A distinctive piece of 1970s Norwegian design, combining Scandinavian craftsmanship with an unusual Egyptian Revival aesthetic.
