Beschrijving
Striking pair of Art Deco / Swedish Grace lounge chairs dating from the 1930s, distinguished by their generous proportions, sculptural silhouette and richly patterned upholstery.
The chairs feature broad rolled armrests, gently curved backs with pronounced side wings and deep, comfortable seats. The front is supported by beautifully turned wooden bun feet, while the rear rests on slightly splayed wooden legs, giving the chairs a solid yet elegant stance.
Both chairs were reupholstered during the 1960s in a luxurious deep red jacquard velvet with a bold black floral pattern. The expressive textile complements the sculptural 1930s form particularly well and gives the pair a distinctive, decorative character.
Despite their substantial appearance, the chairs are exceptionally comfortable and provide a relaxed, enveloping seating position.
Dating from the 1930s, with upholstery from the 1960s.
Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related wear to the upholstery and wooden elements, consistent with their age and use.
