We are proud to present this exceptionally rare 1930s Art Deco “Cave à Liqueur” cocktail cabinet and bar trolley, complete with a beautiful Saint-Louis crystal service in the historic Caton pattern.
With its distinctive stepped architectural design, this elegant French cocktail cabinet is both decorative and highly functional. Four original castors allow it to be moved easily, while a brass side handle reflects its original use as a serving trolley.
Opening the upper section reveals a beautifully fitted bar interior with dedicated storage for glasses and decanters. A drop-down front creates a practical serving surface, complemented by integrated glass panels that add elegance and lightness to the design.
Warm wood, polished brass fittings, glass and fine French crystal come together beautifully, giving this rare French Art Deco cocktail cabinet a refined and luxurious appearance.
Saint-Louis Crystal – Caton Pattern
Included with the cabinet is an impressive Saint-Louis crystal service in the Caton pattern, comprising four matching decanters and twelve stemmed glasses.
Known for its elegant proportions and distinctive vertical cut decoration, the Caton pattern is one of Saint-Louis’ classic crystal designs. Each decanter is finished with a large faceted crystal stopper.
Interestingly, none of the crystal pieces are factory marked. This is consistent with earlier Saint-Louis production and adds to the authentic period character of the service.
Especially noteworthy is the way each stopper was individually hand-ground to fit its corresponding decanter. As a result, the stoppers are not interchangeable; every stopper fits precisely into its own bottle. Such traditional hand-fitting reflects the high level of craftsmanship associated with fine French crystal.
Complete with four decanters, twelve glasses, original castors, brass details and a fitted bar interior, this is a highly decorative 1930s Art Deco cocktail bar and an exceptional addition to a dining room, private bar or collection.
